Everyone everywhere needs to see this video.

Someone was seriously smoking a little too much of something to make this little gem.

Dear David Hasselhoff,

You are crazy but I love you.

My friend Amy first showed me this video and I forgot about it until today.

And now I can't stop watching it.

So hilarious.

Trip Part III

After Utah came Rexburg. Brooke and I have been staying with my sister and her family in Rexburg for the last two weeks. We have been going to the park, to these fun tunnels {for the kids to crawl through}, playing outside in the dirt and the water, going to the splash park, the zoo, shopping, etc. Brooke LOVES all of her cousins...especially Olivia or as she says "O-yivvya". Here are the photos from the Zoo....probably one of my favorite things we did so far. The zoo in Idaho Falls isn't exactly huge, so it took us about an hour and a half to get through the whole thing which was the perfect amount of time for 4 kids. And, the kids were angels. No melt downs or anything! {I really think part of that was Shayna insisting that we stop close to every bench to sit down and have snacks and water. Genius!}

On the way home, the two little girls fell asleep while Zoe and Keegan watched Heman. What a great day! :)

Trip Part II

After staying in Twin Falls, we headed to Salt Lake to visit with out friends and old neighbors Rob & Erin. I stayed a few days and it was really fun for Brooke to have a play mate just her size. Lyla and Brooke had lots of fun playing together. The day before we left, we went to Temple Square and out to lunch. There was so much construction and so many people that it was so hard to find a decent place to eat where you didn't have to wait more than 30 minutes. Finally after walking 6 blocks or so, we found pier 49 {pizza}! Hooray! The two little ones were happy to get food in their bellies.

Once we were done with the temple square thing, I went to Provo to see my friend, KJ! I hadn't seen her since Brooke was 3 or 4 months old. SO MUCH FUN to be able to see her and hang out with her again! Love that girl.

 I was also able to meet up with some food bloggers for lunch which was so fun! It was nice to meet them in person.

So, that was Utah.

Trip Part I

Since Gordon left and since I purchased a new vehicle, I thought it only necessary to go on a road trip. My first stop was to Twin Falls, ID to visit my friend, Amy and her family. Can I just say I love this girl to pieces?! She is probably at the top of my list of best friends....not that I have a long list. Totally awesome and easy going. Just what I needed!

Amy & Lauren

So I stayed 3ish days and we didn't do a whole lot the first day {which was absolutely wonderful!} Brooke loves her two kids and got along swimmingly. After day 1, Brooke called Amy "nice Amy" and her husband "Noo-ah" {Noah}.

One of the only pictures I got of Savannah. She's sassy!

One night, I was reading to Brooke in her Book of Mormon picture reader book and we were reading about King Noah. She pointed at the picture and and asked "Noo-ah?" as if asking is that the same Noah? Ha! So cute. No Brooke, Noah doesn't burn people at the stake.

Overall a wonderful few days! Thank you for being awesome Amy & Nooah!

Well, crap.

Gordon called me today...just as I was walking into Sacrament meeting. So, I walked the halls with Brooke talking to him. I got some funny looks from people.

Anyways, he is doing well. He's not sick anymore and got his voice back, so he sounded normal. I was so not expecting him to call when he did and I'm pretty sure I just sounded stressed. Then 5 minutes into the conversation, Brooke said "mommy peepee big!" So, I took her into the bathroom as I was on the phone. I looked ridiculous juggling our stuff, the phone, Brooke, toilet paper, etc. Poor Gordon got a frazzled wife to talk to on the other end. After that though, Brooke was an angel and ate her fish crackers and drank her juice on the couch so I could talk to him. It was so hard! I've decided that I don't like him calling me because it just makes me miss him more. I don't like it one bit. Of course I was crying by the end of our conversation and then I really got some strange looks.

Like I've mentioned earlier, some days are harder then others and today just happened to be particularly hard. Darn it. I hate him being away so much but I know that in the long run it will be a good thing. And, he is loving what he is doing even though it's hard for him too.

So, yeah. Today was a little crappy.

And if you're going to leave a comment saying the rest of the time will just 'fly by' then don't bother. Tons of people have told me that and guess what? It feels like he's been gone for a year. Time doesn't fly by.

On the bright side, he's half done and has 5 more weeks left. That's good, right? {I'm still sort of trying to be positive about this whole thing...}

I'm a bad blogger

I can't believe its been almost a full month since I've posted anything. Oops.

Anyways, here's what's going on:

1. I got a new car. Well, technically it's used, but it's new to me. We got a 2007 Honda Accord and we love it! And by we I mean Brooke and I. It's such a huge difference from our old VW. It was a stressful buying process, but I'm so glad it's over because now I have a reliable car! I love it. Did I mention I drove 500 miles on 1 tank of gas? Amazing. I LOVE IT.

2. Gordon is doing well. I've gotten a few letters from him and he isn't impressed with his platoon because they are all immature and don't listen to their drill sergeant. Not listening to their drill sergeant means lots of grueling physical activity. He's in good shape, but he was even complaining of how tough they are. Last week, he did a PT test and got 1st place out of 180 people. What a guy! I miss him a lot, but I know he's doing a great job.

3. We took this show on the road. Brooke and I took our sweet new car and traveled to Twin Falls to visit my friend Amy, to Salt Lake to visit Rob & Erin {our old neighbors and friends}, KJ {a good friend} and some food bloggers AND Rexburg to visit my sister and other people. We are in Rexburg now and are having a ball. Besides being sick, we are having a great time. Brooke loves her cousins a lot. I'll be here a few more weeks and then we'll head back to Oregon. Woo-hoo! :)

Healthy Challenge

There is this lady in my ward who got a group of us together to participate in something called a Healthy Challenge. Basically, for 10 weeks, we follow these guidelines/rules. For every rule we follow, we get a point. At the end of the challenge, whoever has the most points wins.

Wins what you ask?

Well, we all pooled our money, so the winner gets the cash.

I thought it was a great idea and there are enough of us in the group to keep each other motivated. And if THAT doesn't help, there's always that money to think about!

I think this idea is genius! If you get enough people together, you can stay motivated and get healthy! Just think, you could implement this at a workplace or in your family or....anywhere, really!

Here are the rules we are following that we get points for each day:

1. 45 minutes of exercise
2. No soda {we changed the rule for our group so technically it is only diet soda, but I don't usually have any anyways, so no big deal!}
3. At least 48 oz. water
4. NO treats and/or sweets
5. 4 servings of vegetables
6. 3 servings of fruit
7. No eating past 8 pm.
8. Take a multivitamin
9. Write a food journal
10. Follow your individual food plan

I honestly thought this was going to be easier than it was because I thought I was pretty healthy. LET ME TELL YOU: that food journal really makes me see how much I'm eating. Whoa mama! It's a lot more than I probably should eat! AND, it's a lot of junk {like a small handful of M&M's here, a few doritos there...etc.} that I'm obliviously munching on. So, it's good to write everything down!

Also, I'm really having trouble getting in all my fruit and not eating any treats or sweets! All I want is candy! Sugar free hot chocolate isn't cutting it! So, I'm hoping that by the beginning of next week, my cravings will be gone!

I'm trying to stay busy with my blog and think of healthy recipes filled with veggies and good for you foods.

Three cheers for being healthy!
