My trip to Chicago and more baby blogging!

My good friend Amy got married a few months ago and moved to Chicago where her betrothed was from. She only started work recently and apparently is loaded, so she decided to fly me and another friend out to visit her because she was a lone girl in a big windy city. I of course came to her rescue. We all were there from the end of august to september 4-ish. Anyways, it was lots and lots of fun and I really liked having somewhat of a vacation! When we got back, Gordon and I stayed with David and Gisella for a few days in Utah before the fall semester started.

We are back in the daily grind and I'm constantly tired because of the pregnancy, and Gordon is constantly tired from not getting enough sleep. We try to rest, but apparently, the amount we get is not enough. As a side note, I should probably put a photo of my ever growing belly on here too. Maybe later. Two days ago I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and Gordon said "wow, I've never seen you look so big!"(ha--music to a girl's ears) I pretended to get upset and he made a pretty good argument- "its good that you're getting bigger...that means the baby is growing and getting bigger!!" Nice save.

Anyways, this weekend, Gordon and I will be moving into the basement of a newly built house. In the basement, we will have 1500 square feet; 3 bedrooms, a huge living area and a bathroom with granite countertops and tile floors-all for $400 a month. We lucked out and are so blessed to be moving into it! Also, being pregnant and moving is really a good combination ("But Gordon, I can't lift that...can I hold the door for you?!".....works like a charm)

Also, there was a mix up at the Doctor's office last week and apparently, I wasn't 20 weeks. Its all fine and good because I will be this coming Sunday. We go to the doctor's office on the 25th to see the gender. So far, the baby has been pretty mellow in the belly. We've started a pool to see if all of your predictions are right. The majority so far is saying boy, so we'll just have to see. Exciting, though!

Family visit

Since Shayna and I live in Rexburg, and our family is hundreds of miles away, they decided to come visit us and drive from Ottawa! We had a pretty awesome time while they were here! We went out to eat, we travelled to mesa falls, we learned new card games, and had one huge birthday party for Gordon, my mom, Shayna, Tony, Keegan, and Zoe. Lots of birthdays in the summer months! We definately were sad to see them go. Hopefully, my permanent residency will be completely processed by the time Christmas rolls around so we can travel to Ottawa to visit everyone there before I have the baby. We'll see! Cross your fingers.

Happy Birthday Gordon!

Today is Gordon's birthday and he celebrated in style. He only had to work a few hours this morning and then saw the new batman movie with Tony which he was DYING to see. Because it was his birthday, he got into the theatre for free. Lucky guy! He went out for a late lunch with a mission friend at, of course, Taco Bell and then came home to me with wonderful gifts and dinner. We later went over to the Potters house to celebrate and sing, finishing the day off with some mighty tasty chocolate cake. Overall, I think it was a good day! Thank you to all the family members who have sent gifts and cards! He really felt special on his big day. I took video of this blessed event so you can email me if you want to see the festivities.

So, a typical day for us would be me leaving for work, Gordon leaving for work, me getting home, making dinner, Gordon getting home, eating dinner. Yesterday, oh how the tables were turned. Gordon only had to work 2 hours, thus giving him the time to make dinner for me. Thats right......this whole time he was saying he can't cook--complete lie. He followed a recipe and we had a pretty great meal. I think this should happen more often. Just as a side note, yes, I now have somewhat of an appetite! Finally, I like food again.

The Pregnancy

The beginnings of a tiny bump perhaps? Or just my fat tummy that will soon be fatter due to the growing baby. Stay tuned! Many of you have asked how I am and how I have been feeling. So, for everyone to know, I have not thrown up, but I feel sick to my stomach from time to time. I get headaches, and feel faint a lot. I am tired and never really have an appetite. Nothing sounds very good to me to eat. I'm sick of bread, crackers, pretzels, idaho water, and the fiber bars I've been eating (which, ps, don't really work as well as they did before, if you know what I mean). At times salads and especially tomatoes sound good. Orange juice with club soda is a new favorite. Compared to a few weeks ago, I am doing great.....a lot better. I am trying to eat as healthily as possible, but that is hard, especially when I tend to crave nothing and have no desire to eat. I am coming up to my 10 week mark and at the beginning of August I have my next appointment. Its on a Saturday, so Gordon will be able to come and hear the heartbeat. As far as I know, the baby is growing and I am slowly feeling as normal as I used to feel. So anyways, advice would be helpful if you have any. I'm thinking it could be a girl, but its a toss up. What do I know. If anyone wants to take a guess, then go ahead! We could start a bidding pool or something.

O'Rourkes

Here are some random pictures from us recently. Shayna, Tony and their little ones joined us for a quick 45 minute drive to Driggs where we ate at a sports bar & grill called O'Rourkes. I first ate here with some roommates back in the day and the drive is REALLY worth it. The best burgers and onion rings around. Seriously. Its like mana from heaven. Such good food. Even Shayna agreed! There are also some photos from the drive. Idaho in some parts isn't as ugly as I thought. If you come visit, we'll take you to O'Rourkes! Its worth it.

Brennan Family Reunion

Gordon and I attended his family reunion in Oregon and I am finally getting some photos up from that. It was great seeing relatives I've never met before! They all knew who I was, but I had no idea who they were, although, by the end of the weekend, the names were coming to me. There was a huge family tree with everyone's pictures on it and that helped a lot. Also, to break the news that I was pregnant, we just taped the ultrasound photo to the family tree. No one really noticed it at first, but when one person knew, EVERYONE knew. We are sneaky! Anyways, we had a lot of fun and look forward to the next Brennan family reunion, hopefully in California! (cross your fingers!)
